Brittany and Lewis were the perfect couple, except they weren’t married yet. Brittany had always dreamed of marriage, but never pressured Lewis. One day, she overheard him telling her mother that he wanted kids, but didn’t think Brittany was ready for that. Her heart sank, wondering if Lewis didn’t want children with her.
When her sister Carla came to stay with them, Brittany noticed her growing closeness to Lewis. They frequently went out for coffee together, making Brittany suspicious. One day, she followed them to a café, where she saw Lewis hand Carla a ring box. Furious and hurt, Brittany confronted them, accusing them of cheating.
To her shock, Lewis got down on one knee and proposed, explaining that Carla had been helping him pick out the ring. Brittany’s mother’s comments had pushed him to act sooner. Overwhelmed, Brittany said yes, and Carla became the maid of honor at their wedding months later.
The story teaches us not to let paranoia cloud judgment and to trust our partners.
