After losing his wife Joan during childbirth, David struggled to even look at their baby or touch her belongings. Overwhelmed with grief, he couldn’t move forward, until his mother insisted he see a therapist. Slowly, he began to heal. One day, he decided to go through Joan’s things, finding her phone. After charging it, he discovered a series of text messages from Joan’s friend, Melissa. Joan had risked her life to carry their baby despite doctor warnings about complications.
