I Invited a Fortune Teller to My Bridal Party to Prank My MIL, but I Didn’t Expect Her to Reveal a Secret Hidden in a Bag

I invited a fortune teller to my bridal party as a prank to rattle my difficult future mother-in-law. What began as light-hearted fun quickly spiraled into a shocking confrontation, revealing a hidden secret in her bag that nearly ruined my wedding.

From the start, my future mother-in-law didn’t like me. She constantly criticized my wedding plans, my dress, and everything about me. I decided to prank her by hiring a fortune teller, hoping to catch her off guard.

The fortune teller’s reading started as expected, but when she reached my mother-in-law, she pointed at her bag and said, “It holds a secret.” The room went silent as the tension grew. My mother-in-law dismissed it, but the fortune teller insisted something related to the wedding was hidden in the bag.

When I asked her to open it, my mother-in-law hesitated. After a brief struggle, the bag fell, and a piece of lace—my wedding dress lace—spilled out. The room gasped.

She confessed: “I didn’t want you to marry Jacob. I cut threads from your dress to ruin it on your wedding day.”

I was horrified. She had tried to sabotage my wedding because she didn’t think I was good enough for her son.

My mom, who had witnessed everything, stepped forward and demanded my mother-in-law make it right or leave the wedding entirely. My mother-in-law, tearful and defeated, agreed. Everything had changed, and I was left to process the betrayal just days before my big day.
