Rebecca’s love for Christmas revolves around magic and family, but when she asks her eldest daughter, Jane, to help protect her younger kids’ belief in Santa, it sparks a heated argument. Jane refuses to shield her son, Liam, from revealing the truth about Santa, causing tension between them. This escalates, and Rebecca uninvites Jane and Liam from Christmas celebrations.
Christmas has always been a special time for Rebecca, filled with family traditions. However, this year, things take a turn when Rebecca asks Jane to ask Liam, who doesn’t believe in Santa, to avoid mentioning it in front of her younger kids, Emma and Noah. Jane refuses, feeling it would be unfair to ask Liam to lie, and the situation spirals into a fierce argument. Jane accuses Rebecca of prioritizing Emma and Noah over her and Liam, while Rebecca feels Jane is dismissive of the family’s traditions. In frustration, Rebecca asks Jane to leave.
The next day, Rebecca feels the absence of her daughter and grandson as Christmas continues without them. The family becomes divided, with some supporting Rebecca, while others side with Jane. After a period of reflection, Rebecca realizes that her desire to protect Emma and Noah’s magic came at the cost of her relationship with Jane. She reaches out to apologize, understanding that Jane was simply raising Liam differently, and they begin to rebuild their bond.
While the holiday wasn’t what Rebecca had hoped for, it taught her that traditions should not come at the expense of family. She hopes that next Christmas will bring more understanding and love.
