The birth of our daughter Sarah turned into a nightmare when my husband, Alex, accused me of infidelity based on her features. He demanded a paternity test, and though hurt, I agreed. Alex left for his parents’ house, and his absence, combined with his mother’s threats, left me devastated. She threatened to take everything from me if the test proved Sarah wasn’t Alex’s.
After the test came back confirming Sarah was his, Alex apologized, but the damage was done. He had humiliated me and allowed his mother to threaten me. I wasn’t sure if I could ever trust him again, but for Sarah’s sake, I agreed to try.
However, while Alex slept one night, I checked his phone and found texts with a female colleague, where he planned to leave me for her. The betrayal was too much. I filed for divorce and moved in with my sister, Emily. Alex denied everything, but I had proof. In the divorce settlement, I got the house, the car, and child support. There was no going back for us.
