Whoopi Goldberg Was Selected by Her Own Peers as the “Most Hated Person in Hollywood”

Once celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most beloved figures, Whoopi Goldberg gained acclaim for her roles in films like “The Color Purple” and “Ghost,” along with a recurring part in Star Trek. Additionally, she regularly performed stand-up for Jerry Lewis.

However, her career trajectory took a downturn when she joined “The View,” leading to a recent designation as “The most disliked person in Hollywood” by her industry peers. According to former producer Joe Barron, the show struggles to secure guests, resorting to persuading individuals in town for filming since local residents refuse to participate.

The poll, initially distributed in a private journal to Screen Actors’ Guild members, became publicized online, earning a reputation for infamy. A substantial 82 percent of respondents voted against Goldberg, citing her “nasty disposition” as the primary reason.

The poll was forwarded to SAG’s Conservative Committee for a vote, with Scott Baio proposing the motion and James Woods seconding it. The remaining six actors present voted unanimously, with Kevin Sorbo casting a proxy vote. Roseanne Barr conveyed her vote energetically from her current location, while Clint Eastwood, the sole dissenter, cited technical difficulties with the Zoom platform.

Maintaining a positive reputation among peers becomes challenging when even within one’s own circle, opinions turn unfavorable. Retirement and a fresh start might be worth considering for Whoopi. God Bless America.
