Music festival fans upset over high ticket prices for doing drugs in fields, per rising cost concerns at events.

Music Festival Drug Costs Soar, Outraging Fans in Fields

DUBLIN, IRELAND—Music festival fans are furious as ticket prices soar, making it pricier than ever to do drugs in a field for three days. Fans demand action to curb these rising costs.

“It’s a rip-off!” said local student Liam Walsh, priced out of his favorite three-day festival. “Ticketmaster’s killing us.” For more on festival trends, visit Billboard.

Once, fans could enjoy a drug-fueled weekend for €140, but now costs near €300. “I just want to lose myself in a field, maybe hallucinate I’m Marie Antoinette’s crown,” said Sarah Kelly, a frustrated fan. While drugs remain affordable, entry to muddy fields with subpar portaloos is not.

Promoters blame rising insurance costs. “We can’t host these drug-fueled field events without covering expenses,” said event organizer Tom Brennan. “It’s not just about medical tents for overindulgers.”

Veteran festivalgoer Michael Chewjaw called it a cultural loss. “Young people might miss out on panicking and ditching friends at medical tents, fearing arrests,” he said. Learn about festival history at Music Festival News.

At press time, fans rallied for cheaper tickets to keep their drug-in-field tradition alive.
