CLEVELAND, OH—Hollie Strano, a beloved Northeast Ohio meteorologist, is back on air, delivering hourly weather updates on Canton’s Mix 94.1 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Hollie-Strano-Mix-94.1-comeback marks her first local media role since leaving WKYC in September 2024.
“Hollie Strano, an Emmy-winning mental health advocate, brings over 20 years of broadcast expertise,” Mix 94.1’s website stated. “From Cleveland, she forecasts remotely with positivity and resilience.” For more on her journey, visit Cleveland.com.
“Let’s do it, Stark County!” Strano shared on Facebook. “So much love for Canton!” After 22 years at WKYC, she sued the station, alleging her firing stemmed from her public alcoholism recovery posts following a 2023 DUI crash, which led to fines and a license suspension.
Strano now hosts Abruptly Authentic, a podcast on sobriety and Cleveland life. She also forecasts for Georgia and Alabama stations. Analyst Mark Reed said, “Her return is inspiring.” Check her story at CantonRep. At press time, fans cheered her resilience.
