Comic-Con Scandal: Attendee Accused of Groping Says It Was Part of Pedro Pascal Cosplay
SAN DIEGO, CA — A Comic-Con attendee caused an uproar this weekend after allegedly groping several women on the convention floor. The man, 29-year-old Brian Grant, claimed he was simply staying in character while cosplaying as actor Pedro Pascal.
Security responded to multiple complaints and tracked Grant down, where he insisted that his inappropriate behavior was just “method acting.”
“I was trying to really become Pedro Pascal,” Grant said during questioning. “He’s known for being charming and touchy, right? I thought a few casual grabs would sell the character. Otherwise, I’d just look like a knockoff Mr. Fantastic.”
Despite the outrage from female guests, some admitted his cosplay was convincing. Kelly Porter, dressed as Wonder Woman, said, “I actually thought it was Pedro Pascal for a split second after he grabbed me. That’s how spot-on his look was. But then I realized he was just some random creep.”
Grant reportedly avoided expulsion from the event by claiming his actions were due to “severe social anxiety” and an intense commitment to the role.
Comic-Con officials have not commented on whether they will impose any future bans.
