Cameron Brink Powers Sparks to Double-Overtime Victory Over Storm

SEATTLE, WA—Cameron Brink, back from a torn ACL, fueled the Los Angeles Sparks to a thrilling 108-106 double-overtime win against the Seattle Storm on Friday. Her 4th-quarter surge turned the game around.

Brink, in her second game back, tallied seven points, four rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in just 12 minutes off the bench. She sparked a comeback from a 66-59 deficit, scoring all her points in under six minutes, starting with a key three-pointer. For more on WNBA stars, visit WNBA.

Foul trouble and a minutes restriction limited Brink, who picked up five fouls, three in the 4th. Still, she joined an elite group of WNBA players with 10 combined points, rebounds, and assists plus five stocks in 13 minutes or less. “Cameron’s impact was huge,” said Sparks coach Lynne Roberts. “I’m excited for her to play without limits.”

The Sparks’ starters shone brightly. Four of five scored 20+ points, a rare WNBA feat. Rickea Jackson led with 27 points, including a game-tying layup with 4.6 seconds left in regulation. Kelsey Plum added 22 points and seven assists, while Dearica Hamby notched 21 points and 13 rebounds, sealing the win with a layup in double-overtime. Check Sparks News for team updates.

Nneka Ogwumike led the Storm with a season-high 37 points, but it wasn’t enough. The Sparks, now 12-15, have won six of their last eight, closing in on the No. 8 playoff seed. The Storm, at 16-12, hold the No. 5 seed alongside the Indiana Fever.

The Fever face the Storm next on Sunday at Climate Pledge Arena, then the Sparks on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
