GREENVILLE, DE — Former President Joe Biden shared his excitement this week about the release of his forthcoming memoir, stating he’s curious to see what his trusted autopen will generate for the book.
“Me and that autopen go way back, Jack,” Biden said. “It’s always surprising me. I’m just… I’m ready to be amazed… you know, the thing.”
Sources close to the publishing deal reported that the memoir—entirely produced using an autopen—was sold to Hachette Book Group for $10 million. While substantial, the amount is reportedly lower than what former President Obama received for his memoirs, likely because Obama wrote his himself.
Biden noted, “Honestly, that autopen probably knows more about my administration than I do. But I made sure to add a short poem about my love for ice cream. Rocky road, baby. Gritsplatter. Moonhammer. Anyway, it’s gonna be great.”
Titled “Pardon Me: The Joe Biden Story,” the memoir is scheduled for release in fall 2025.
In a surprising twist, President Biden has since filed legal action against the autopen, accusing it of claiming he was mentally unfit to write his own book.
