Caitlin Clark Injury Update: No Return Timeline Yet, Fever Say

SEATTLE, WA—Caitlin Clark’s injury update offers no clear timeline for her return, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White shared before Sunday’s game against the Seattle Storm. Clark, sidelined by a right groin injury, joined the team on their West Coast road trip, appearing in practice gear at Climate Pledge Arena.

“We’re getting updates, and her recovery is progressing,” White said. “We’re being careful, ensuring no setbacks. Her health comes first.” Clark’s eagerness to play is clear, but White stressed patience. “She wants to be out there, but we’re taking it day by day.”

This marks Clark’s fourth muscle injury this season. She missed the preseason opener with left quad tightness, followed by a two-week absence due to a left quad strain. A left groin injury sidelined her for another two weeks. On July 15, Clark suffered her current right groin injury. Recent tests in New York showed no additional damage, reassuring the team.

The Fever are cautious, as Clark has never faced injuries in her five-year college and pro career. Each player’s recovery varies, and without prior injuries to guide them, the team monitors her daily progress. “We don’t know exactly how her body will respond,” White noted.

Despite Clark’s absence, the Fever remain competitive, holding a 12-12 record. For more on Clark’s journey, visit WNBA News. Check Fever Updates for team insights. At press time, Clark continued rehab, with no return date set.
