Women’s Parallel Parking Debuts at 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND—The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will feature Women’s Parallel Parking, a bold new event to boost female medal opportunities. The International Olympic Committee added it to highlight women’s skills, with no male version, as men find parallel parking too simple.

“Los Angeles is perfect for Women’s Parallel Parking—it’s tough to park here,” said California Governor Gavin Newsom. “I’ll ensure clean sidewalks, free of obstacles, for the event.” Cars with self-parking tech are banned, but power steering is allowed to ease the challenge.

“This event is tough enough,” an Olympic official noted. “Asking women to parallel park already pushes limits and thrills spectators.”

Russia and China are training hard. “Our women practice with bad cars in tight spots,” said Russian coach Yuri Petrov, a skilled parker. “We aim to beat the U.S. and prove our drivers are tops.”

Saudi Arabia opted out of the competition. Meanwhile, U.S. tryouts saw many trans-women vying for an easy gold medal.
