CHICAGO, IL—Fans at a recent James Taylor concert raved about the “amazing” show. Yet, none had strong enough knees to give a standing ovation.
“I loved every minute,” said 85-year-old Cheryl Feinstein, one of 3,000 elderly fans. Instead of clapping, they waved achy hands and weakly called for “Sweet Baby James.” Their hoarse voices barely carried.
“My husband and I don’t hear well,” Feinstein added. “We’re not sure if he sang ‘How Sweet It Is,’ but we love that song!”
At press time, James Taylor himself struggled to stand and leave the stage.
