LOS ANGELES, CA — While promoting the upcoming Fantastic Four film, Pedro Pascal revealed that he spent several months in an intense physical regimen to prepare for his role as Mister Fantastic — a superhero known for his extraordinary flexibility.
“As soon as I was confirmed for the role, I called my trainer and said, ‘We’ve got six months to stretch me into Marvel shape,’” Pascal told reporters.
His training reportedly started with light stretching exercises, gradually building up to the ability to elongate his limbs by tens of feet. “We began with 10 to 15-foot extensions, then worked our way toward 50-foot stretches, including torso expansion exercises where I had to act like a human trampoline,” Pascal explained.
The actor admitted that the process was grueling, especially leg day, and said the costume department struggled to keep up with his newly acquired stretchiness. “If you look closely at Eddington, you’ll notice how much I’d already stretched,” he joked.
Though proud of his transformation, Pascal expressed concern about setting unrealistic physical standards for other actors and young fans. “I just hope no one feels pressured to be this stretchy in real life.”
