Infamous serial killer Ted Bundy has stunned the public by claiming that his violent crimes in the 1970s were actually caused by his autism diagnosis.
Bundy’s bizarre statement follows former MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace’s controversial attempt to blame his own misconduct allegations on his autism — a move Bundy now fully embraces.
“Oh, so that’s an option? Cool!” Bundy reportedly exclaimed.
“Yep, it was totally the autism. That’s why I became a serial killer. It wasn’t my choices or violent tendencies — no, definitely just autism.”
Bundy preemptively addressed critics who might point out that millions of autistic people lead perfectly peaceful lives. “Ignore those people. Clearly, the only reason for my crimes was my autism.”
He also considered other “excuses,” joking, “I could have pulled a Kevin Spacey — get accused of something awful and then suddenly come out as gay. But honestly, this autism angle has real potential.”
In a final twist, Bundy joked, “By the way, did I say autism? I meant diabetes. Wait, no — it was autism. Definitely autism.”
Experts and autism advocates immediately condemned Bundy’s comments, stressing that autism does not cause violence and using it as a defense harms the community.
