My Father Abandoned Me as a Child and I Took Revenge on Him – Story of the Day

After a tiring day at work, Amanda returned to the modest house where she grew up. It was her sanctuary, filled with childhood memories and reminders of her late mother.

After aging out of the foster care system, she reclaimed the house. It was more than just a building; it represented her past and the love she had from her mother.

She noticed a newspaper on the doorstep and brought it inside, planning to make some tea. As she scanned through the headlines, a photo of her father, Robert, and his young fiancée, Clara, caught her eye. It was an announcement about their upcoming wedding.

The image brought back painful memories of her father’s abandonment and broken promises. Her anger, buried for years, resurfaced, and she thought of her mother, the silver earring she had gifted her, and the betrayal she felt.

The next day, Amanda went to her father’s house, hiding behind a tree as she watched Robert and Clara. After they left, Amanda spotted an open window and, using her childhood tree-climbing skills, climbed inside. She planted one of her earrings on his bed to create doubt between the couple.

Later, Amanda rang the doorbell, pretending to be someone from her father’s past. Clara, confused, let her inside to search for the earring, which Amanda quickly found. Carla confronted Robert, accusing him of cheating, and the wedding was called off.

Amanda felt a sense of satisfaction, believing she had made her father feel the pain he caused her. But when she later overheard her coworkers talking about Robert’s extravagant wedding to Clara, Amanda realized she was still carrying anger.

Her mother’s words about forgiveness echoed in her mind. Later, Amanda went to Robert’s house, no longer angry, but wanting answers. After a tense conversation, Robert admitted his regrets, revealing the fear and guilt he carried after leaving her and her mother. Amanda, after hearing his side, found it in herself to forgive him, realizing that carrying anger was too heavy a burden.

Her father, overwhelmed with emotion, thanked her for giving him a chance to make things right.
