WASHINGTON — While the surviving victims of Saturday’s shootings were still recovering from their injuries, President Donald Trump reportedly called Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette Hoffman, on Monday to vent about Gov. Tim Walz. “Your governor treated me very unfairly in the 2024 election—a real nasty piece of work, that Walz,” Trump said during the call with the hospitalized couple, criticizing how Minneapolis had become “a complete hellhole” under Walz’s leadership. “Have you heard about his trips to China? Very suspicious, if you ask me. And he lied about his military service. So disgraceful! It’s truly a shame he’s still in office. You both have my deepest condolences for all the harm that moron has brought to the great state of Minnesota.” Reports say Trump assured the Hoffmans that he would do everything possible to make Walz “the next” to face consequences.
