SAN DIEGO, CA — In a reflective moment this week, 27-year-old Yara O’Neill paused during her day to contemplate the sheer number of hit songs Taylor Swift has produced throughout her career.
“I wouldn’t call myself a huge Taylor Swift fan, and I rarely think about her,” Yara shared while gazing thoughtfully into the sunset at a local park. “But in that quiet moment, I realized she has an incredible number of hits.”
According to witnesses, Yara had been strolling through the park when she suddenly sat on a bench, shook her head slowly, and seemed to acknowledge Swift’s impressive discography.
“When most people think of Taylor Swift, they might remember albums like Reputation or 1989, but then you start listing her songs — ‘Teardrops on My Guitar,’ ‘You Belong With Me’ — and you realize how many hits she’s had,” Yara explained. “It’s wild how many of these titles I recognize without even trying.”
She admitted she doesn’t actively listen to Taylor Swift but has absorbed many of her songs naturally over the years.
“Often, I’ll find myself humming a catchy tune, and it turns out to be a Taylor Swift song,” she added. “She has released 11 original albums — that’s truly remarkable!”
Yara emphasized that she does not consider herself a Swiftie and even spent much of her twenties poking fun at die-hard fans.
“I’m not into celebrity or billionaire worship,” she clarified. “This is more about recognizing genuine success. I’ve achieved great results as a marketing coordinator, and Taylor has dominated the music industry. It’s all about respecting excellence.”
When asked why she chose to reflect on this now, her roommate Piper McLean suggested it wasn’t unusual.
“This happens every few months,” Piper said. “She has these realizations about how successful certain artists or historical figures are. Last year, it was Nickelback. Before that, Michelangelo — though that was on a different cultural level.”
At last update, Yara was seen scrolling through Taylor Swift’s full discography, repeatedly whispering “wow” to herself. Upon reaching the Midnights album, she quietly admitted, “Okay, they can’t all be hits.”
