MADISON, WI — After finishing the closing credits of Grease 2, local resident Rob Denton announced Monday that he has successfully watched all 761 movies ever made. “I did it — I’ve seen every single one,” said Denton, looking exhausted but proud. He explained that he spent most of his life methodically working through the entire cinematic catalog, from classics like Jaws to modern hits like The Incredibles, plus countless others in between.
Denton began his marathon with the Rocky series, which alone accounted for nine films. “That jumpstarted my journey and made the next two decades of movie-watching manageable,” he said. The only films he struggled with were the three Italian-made movies, as he doesn’t speak the language. Fortunately, the vast majority of the movies were in English and accessible through his local public library’s rental program.
With this massive goal behind him, Denton now faces a new challenge: diving into the world of literature. “My next project is to read all 37 books on my list,” he revealed.
