LOS ANGELES, CA — In an exciting fashion development, 22-year-old Ophelia Banks has popularized a new denim trend with her jean shorts so long they almost qualify as full jeans.
These extra-long jean shorts, which Ophelia calls “jants” — a blend of “jean” and “pants” — have caught the attention of fashion lovers across the city. “It’s all about how much of your knee your shorts cover these days,” Ophelia explained. “The longer the shorts, the closer you get to ‘god’—and by that, I mean Addison Rae. So I decided to push the limits.”
Ophelia discovered these “jants” stocked in abundance at her local Levi’s store. “They had shelves filled with them,” she said, “and I can’t believe more people haven’t jumped on this trend yet. Plus, they keep me warm.”
Passersby stopped and stared as Ophelia strutted through Los Angeles, intrigued by this fresh take on denim. “I never thought jean shorts could cover my lower shins and ankles,” said 21-year-old Uma Singh. “It’s a whole new level of cool.”
Vogue editor Elise Monclaire also took notice. “I’d heard whispers about these long shorts, but seeing them in person blew my mind. They’re going to be the focus of our next issue,” Elise shared.
As for Ophelia’s next fashion move, she’s taking her time. “It’s hard to top this,” she admitted. “I need a moment before I think about what comes next.”
Meanwhile, Ophelia is experimenting with an extremely long sweatshirt, but the public agrees it doesn’t quite match the impact of the “jants.”
