Kid Rock and Jason Aldean have officially canceled all their scheduled New York stops on the upcoming “You Can’t Cancel America” tour.
The tour’s website stated, “We support 45, and because of that, we won’t be performing in the state that has treated him so unfairly.”
Originally, the tour planned over a dozen shows across New York, which would have contributed millions to local economies and offered patriotic fans living in a predominantly liberal state a chance to enjoy an evening of their own.
Joe Barron, President of the Kid Rock Fan Club, expressed disappointment: “All those plans are gone, thanks to New York. I had tickets for the West Plattsville Pig Roast, floor seats even. We were looking forward to the commemorative popcorn bucket signed by Kid himself for just $12.99 extra. We’re really bummed out.”
Many venues are also disappointed about missing out on what was expected to be the biggest tour of the year.
Perhaps the biggest blow is to Brunswick, near Cooperstown, which was set to host the tour during their Cosmic Bowling event, known to attract nearly a hundred people. “We had already rented the stage,” said Manager Joe Barron. “The local Little League team was selling raffle tickets that included free admission, and we were expecting to hit the fire department’s 125-person limit. Our community really needed this boost, but we understand the situation.”
