Beyoncé Knowles has her sights set on becoming a country music star. Despite holding the record for the most Grammy wins in history, she’s reportedly aiming to carve out a place in the world of country music.
However, the Academy of Country Music (ACM) wasn’t convinced—and denied her request for membership.
“We honestly thought it was a joke,” said ACM Executive Director Joe Barron. “She released a song with a bit of a country vibe and mentioned plans for a full album. That’s great—go for it. But that doesn’t automatically make her part of the country music community.”
The ACM dismissed considerations of Beyoncé’s Texas upbringing and her stated love for country music. “She should’ve thought of that before all the pop songs and the so-called ‘woke’ content,” Barron added. “We already have Garth Brooks on thin ice—we’re pulling his membership at the end of the fiscal year.”
Without ACM membership, Beyoncé won’t be eligible for its prestigious awards or performance slots at major country venues like the Grand Ole Opry. She also won’t have access to perks like member nights at Kid Rock’s Nashville bar, Golden Corral discounts, or early access to Bass Pro Shop’s annual gun safe sale.
“It’s a serious setback to her country dreams,” said a man named Lou, spotted outside a 7-Eleven in Galveston. “Without that ACM recognition, she might fall just short of being the biggest name in music history.”
